A Tune of Romantic Whimsy

In lieu of finishing a history post tonight, I'm re-posting my music video with the lyrics (as requested). Apparently my crappy technology is "crappy" and no one can understand the words. Demanding assholes. Happy Heteronormativity Valentine's Day! I decided it was the perfect day to finally record one of my self-written songs for posterity. It is the second of the three I wrote last spring when I was feeling creative (and single, and not in school). So, captured with my high quality tech equipment, here it is: The Breakup Song (Fuck You) Copyright forever and ever Lauren J. Chesnut When we said goodbye, I broke in two Didn't think I could find my way without you But I came to see that you were no good for me and I'd known all along that you would do me wrong Then out of the blue, I got a message from you You'd found some old clothes of mine in the extra room So I came to you, still in our old place and in that moment I knew I had to say it to your face I said, "Fuck you," and I meant it, too There is nothing in my life that isn't better without you You didn't know what to say, you just slowly backed away You didn't recognize that new look in my eyes As I thought of my nights of tears, after all those wasted years So I picked up my pack and left and knew I'd never take it back I said, "Fuck you," and I meant it, too There is nothing in my life that isn't better without you And what were you feeling every time you said, "I love you"? 'Cause it's sure as hell not what I meant when I said, "Babe, I love you too." I said, "Fuck you," and I meant it, too There is nothing in my life that isn't better without you When I said, "Fuck you," we were finally through And there is nothing now that I'm not free to do When we said goodbye, I broke in two Didn't think I could find my way without you

  3. Lauren, your blog is hilarious and favorited! I'm going to pimp out my intellecti-blog at http://downfalldictionary.blogspot.com, though I'm sad to say that it's lacking funny YouTube videos or anti-masturbation shirts.
